My work is an exploration of everyday objects that surround us;
chairs, a vintage typewriter, boots, a red dress, and lemons’ on a
table: Objet de l'obsession.  The impulse to paint landscapes is
another obsession I cannot refute. Spontaneously working with oil
paint, oil bars, conte’ crayons, charcoal, amassing texture with an
emphasis on vibrant color. I do not imitate objects or nature but a
kind of instinct reaches to find the composition, the unity, order,
disorder and the connection produced by the surrounding space.
The objects are not grounded in the everyday; the landscapes
assume a life of their own, like vignettes.  This is a glimpse into my
life as a painter and my observation of the world around me.
